"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." -Anne Frank
The FRHS Foundation is a non-profit organization designed to raise money and awareness for Freeman Regional Health Services, which includes the Freeman Medical Center, Oakview Terrace Nursing Home and Rural Medical Clinics in Freeman, Bridgewater, Marion and Menno, and independent living apartments. Established in 2009, the foundation is important in supporting excellent health care in these rural communities. Just as a foundation supports the structure of a building, the FRHS Foundation supports the mission of Freeman Regional Health Services.
The Purpose of the Foundation
The foundation endeavors to strengthen the longstanding community support that has helped FRHS grow as a successful independent health care facility.
"Our purpose is to establish lasting relationships, and to raise funds for the facility," said Ruth Strasser, Foundation Director. "We want to provide resources for equipment, programs, and services that will benefit our communities both now and into the future."
Why is the Foundation Important?
Reimbursement from insurance companies have become less, and resources from the federal and state governmental agencies are on the decline as well. These financial demands have made foundations and fundraising critical to hospital survival.
Why Give to the FRHS Foundation?
Contributions to the foundation are an investment in health and in the economic well-being of the community at large. The services provided have a direct impact on the patients, residents and their families. The foundation ensures that important programs and services continue to play a vital role in the future of our communities. As one of the largest employers in the area, Freeman Regional Health Services plays a major part in the economic health of the rural communities that are served.
The Freeman Regional Health Services Foundation Committee Members include:
