Theresa Laufmann, Director of Nursing, has worked at Oakview Terrace for eight years. She has spent much of this past year preparing staff for the transition from paper to electronic charting.
"Transitioning from paper to electronic charting has been challenging," she said, "but it also gave me the opportunity to work closely with nursing staff and other department managers to improve our processes. Computers allow multiple staff to access a resident chart at the same time, improving communication and offering capabilities to monitor quality of services and therefore improve quality of life for our residents."
Theresa lives in rural Emery with her husband Rex. Their daughter Rachel is a sophomore at USD, majoring in bio-medical research.
Some of Theresa's hobbies are reading and fishing. She loves and cares for her animals - horses and bunnies. Theresa brings her bunnies in from time to time for the residents to enjoy.
