The primary role of a physical therapist is to help resolve impairments to improve function. Treatment interventions focus on pain relief, extremity exercises, transfer and gait training and education with clients to review home program recommendations. Teaching clients general principles in these areas help empower them to care for themselves.
Tony Miller, pictured left, is the physical therapist for FRHS. He and Mike McCue, Physical Therapy Assistant, work together to achieve the best possible outcome for their patients, who have had fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries, as well as those who have suffered a stroke or heart attack.
Clients across the entire age spectrum may benefit from physical therapy services including children and adults as hospital inpatients and outpatients, and geriatric clients from skilled nursing facilities.
