The Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group is designed to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers. Participants develop methods and skills to solve problems and find support in the experiences and care of others with similar experiences. The group encourages caregivers to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health as well as optimally care for the person with dementia.The group, sponsored by the South Dakota Alzheimers Association and Freeman Regional Health Services, meets in Freeman in the Hospital Conference room on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Licensed Social Worker Amanda Mettler facilitates the discussion.
