Once a day, Monday through Saturday, hot, nutritious meals are delivered to Freeman Community Residents. The meals are prepared by the Freeman Regional Health Services Dietary Department and are delivered by volunteers from the Freeman Community.
The meals are geared to fit specific dietary needs.
"We are very fortunate to have reliable volunteers to deliver these meals," said Dietary Manager Bev Ulmer. "They come, rain or shine. This is a wonderful program. It benefits people who have difficulty with cooking due to illnesses or having just returned home from the hospital and are recovering and need short or even long term assistance."
There is no Meals on Wheels delivery on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years. No Meals on Wheels will be delivered when Freeman schools are cancelled because of weather.
