It has been said that volunteers are the heart and soul of any organization.

The volunteer program at Freeman Regional Health Services is an integral part of the entire network at Freeman Regional Health Services.  The program provides opportunities to help others in a hospital and nursing home setting.

Some of the areas for volunteer assistance includes:

  • Assistance with the Sunday afternoon worship services at Oakview Terrace;
  • Helping with resident activities which can include bingo, helping residents write letters, and reading to the residents.
  • Present afternoon or evening programs.
  • Meals-on-Wheels drivers and substitute drivers
  • Take residents for a wheelchair ride or walk outdoors, or sit on the patio with residents.

Currently, FRHS has approximately 100 volunteers.  "We really appreciate all of our volunteers," said Activities Director Deb Gering.  "They are compassionate folks who bring joy and happiness to our residents."
