FRHS Presents diabetes classes

Freeman Community Health, in conjunction with Freeman Regional Health Services, will be presenting a series of diabetes classes, presented by RN Beth Preheim, in the hospital conference room.

The first class will be Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 4-5 p.m.  This class will be re-presented Wednesday March 30 and Wednesday June 1, at the same time, 4-5 p.m.

This hour-long class,"Diabetes 101," which is the first in a series of classes, is an introduction to diabetes and explains which foods affect your blood sugar levels, and how much you should eat.

The second class will be presented on Wednesdays Feb 10, April 6 and June 8 from 4-5:00 p.m.  This series is titled "Make the Most of your Meter."  This will give an overview of how to use blood sugar testing to improve blood sugar control.  It will also cover common reasons why blood sugar readings may go up and down.  It is recommended and helpful to have attended the first class in this series, "Diabetes 101."

Pre-registration is required, but no physician order is needed.  For more information and to register, call 605-925-4000.
