Digna Miller Achieves Board Certification in Medical Practice Management

Digna Miller, Rural Medical Clinics Manager at Freeman Regional Health Services, has earned the professional designation of Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) by the American College of Medical Practice Executives, the certification entity of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

The designation of CMPE demonstrates that Miller has achieved board certification in medical practice management.   ACMPE certifies an individual's professional competence when she passes rigorous essay and objective examinations that assess knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills.  These skills include business operations, financial management, human resource management, information management, organizational governance, patient care systems, quality management and risk management.  The individual must also earn a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours.  Today, MGMA membership is comprised of more than 6,600 individuals who have attained CMPE or ACMPE Fellow status or who seek certification.

Miller has served as the FRHS Rural Medical Clinics Manager for three years.  She manages clinics in Freeman, Marion, Menno and Bridgewater.

"The certification is a benefit not only to my professional growth but also to Freeman Regional's desire of continued improvement to better serve our patients," Miller said.  "I'm honored and excited to be 1 of 15 people with such a certification in the state of South Dakota.  I'm proud to be a part of such an elite group of professionals in the health care field."

Freeman Regional Health Services and Rural Medical Clinics staff congratulates Digna for all of her hard work in obtaining her professional and prestigious achievement!
