FRHS FOUNDATION UPDATE

Hello,

We hope that you have been well & staying healthy!

Freeman Regional Health Services Foundation has made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 golf tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While we looked forward to hosting this annual event, the safety of our golfers, volunteers & community remains our highest priority. Furthermore, our FRHS employees who volunteer to run the event need the ability to fully dedicate their attention to managing the COVID-19 situation.

Every area of FRHS operations has been altered as a result of COVID-19. We expect that our revenue & expenses will be severely impacted. Like other health care providers, FRHS patient visit income has significantly reduced due to necessary cancelations of elective procedures, limitations to therapy appointments and restrictions to routine & maintenance visits.

The FRHS Foundation golf tournament is more than a fun outing, it is one of our largest fundraising events of the year. Last year, you helped us to raise nearly $15,500 to support the amazing work of our care team. Now, more than ever, we need these funds to continue to meet your health care needs.

Please consider making a donation to show your continued support for FRHS. Your gift in any amount makes a difference in your community! Your charitable contribution may be eligible for a 2020 charitable tax deduction even if you don’t itemize. The CARES Act allows those who take the standard deduction to take a $300 “above-the-line” deduction & raises the annual limits for those who itemize, including businesses. We would be honored if you selected FRHS as the recipient of this gift!

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Vicki Geiser
Executive Director FRHS Foundation & Marketing

SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM FRHS CEO

Hello,

On March 10, 2020 the first positive COVID-19 case was identified in South Dakota. We immediately locked down Oakview Terrace nursing home & Freeman Medical Center hospital as a precaution to protect our residents & patients.

Initially, we were inundated with national, state & local guidelines that were changing by the hour. We implemented our emergency disaster command center to deal with the continuing stream of information & requirements.

Now, two months later, things have settled down a bit or at least we have a better handle on them. We are still a health center providing hospital, nursing home & clinic care. However, we are providing our services in a way that we never fully anticipated.

We understand that this has brought a lot of stress or worries to all of you, our staff & their families. We’ve continued to share the most current information to our community as we maneuver through these trying times.

Please continue to go to freemanregional.com/news-and-events to read the current updates at FRHS. We also want to provide you with reliable links to additional COVID-19 resources to help answer any questions or concerns that you may have for you, your loved ones & your business.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if we can be of assistance to you or your business as together we navigate this unique situation.

Sincerely,
Nick Brandner
FRHS CEO
